Microfinance Working Group for the Lao PDR  (MFWG) in partnership with Microfinance Centre (MFC).
 

The 19 participating trainees from 14 microfinance institutions (MFIs) and the Bank of Lao PDR gathered together in Vientiane to learn more about how to improve performance monitoring and management in their organizations in a three-day training.

Staff from Non-Deposit Taking MFIs, Deposit- Taking MFIs, Saving & Credit Unions, Village Banks and Bank of Lao PDR attended the training from 09-11 May 2013 at Chanthapanya Hotel, Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR. The training was organized by MFWG in partnership with MFC with funding from BRS/ADA.

The workshop was formally opened by Dr. Akhom Pasert, Director of Financial Institution Supervision Department of Bank of Lao PDR; with Mr. Bandith Sisoukda, Chair of MFWG, Mr. Gregory Thys, International Trainer from BRS/ADA and Mr. Somphone Sisenglath, Trainer from Microfinance Training Center.

The MFGW was established in 2007 and aims at bringing together practitioners from the microfinance sector in Laos PDR. It currently counts 26 regulated microfinance institutions amongst its members.

The training was highly appreciated by the participants.
