Serinsa - a rising star of Microinsurance

Servicios Inclusivos S.A (SERINSA) is a social venture initiated by REDCAMIF (the regional network of MFIs in Central America and Caribbean) in 2016 to provide a technical support for the promotion of microinsurance in the region. At the moment SERINSA works with 11 MFIs in Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador. In 2018, 58.000 people have accessed microinsurance services in the countries previously mentioned.

In 2018, SERINSA requested technical assistance from ADA and BRS to strengthen the provision of inclusive and responsible microinsurance in Central America and Caribbean. One of the challenges tackled in this alliance was the identification of financial and social indicators relevant to SERINSA and based on the Key Performance Indicators for Microinsurance developed by MICROFACT.  These indicators enable SERINSA to measure, amongst other things, the value of the product for its clients, the sustainability of each product and the added value for the MFIs in offering these products.

Call for Factsheets 2018 - Less than a month left to apply!

Through this initiative, Microfact wants to encourage our trainers to support MFIs in filling out the Factsheets and interpreting of the data correctly in order to optimize the use of the tools in microfinance and microinsurance.

Therefore, Microfact calls all trainers who have successfully conducted a Microfact workshop in 2018 in line with the commitments of the Trainers Habilitation Letter to provide to the Microfact Coordinators the required documents in order to obtain the Microfact grant.

Requests for the application form for the “Call for Factsheets” or any questions on the initiative should be directed to the Microfact Coordinators: jarek.chuchla@brs.coop and m.abboud@ada-microfinance.lu
